Control Spending to Help Working Families
Growing up as a single mother of 2, I’ve experienced living within a budget and being responsible with every dollar. I carried that experience into my service as Lake County Clerk, spending under budget by as much as $300,000 per year. That’s the same mindset I’ll bring to the circuit clerk’s office.
The current circuit clerk has increased spending to over $10 million for the first time, including nearly doubling the budget for “trips and trainings.” She has spent over budget multiple times and significantly raised fees. At a time when working families in Lake County are struggling to afford necessities like groceries, our elected officials cannot be spending wastefully.
Just as I did in the clerk’s office, I will be responsible with our budget and find ways to control spending. I will also ensure residents don’t experience additional costs due to delays or inaccurate reporting that could affect someone financially.
